Central is in the city for good. This means we serve our neighbors in a variety of ways.
Below is a list of ways in which we volunteers can support our ministries and help to serve our neighbors.

Sunday Worship Usher
Ushers are the patrons of hospitality, helping to ensure members and visitors have all that they need to enjoy a positive worship experience - distributing bulletins, assisting guests, collecting offering, and supporting the efforts of staff.
Sunday Coffee Maker & Servers
These hospitality volunteers help create a fellowship experience for Sunday worship members and guests. Coffee makers help prepare refreshments before worship services while coffee servers serve coffee and cookies after worship during the fellowship hour.
Children’s Ministry
Children’s Ministry is booming and we need some extra hands and hearts. If you are willing to donate some time on Sunday mornings (even just once a quarter), our young children will be cared for and loved. There are spots for Nursery Care (9:30 – 11:30 on Sundays) and for Sunday Connection (with Laura in worship through the end of worship.)
Prayer Partners
Central is seeking “Prayer Partners” for its children and youth ministry. Specifically, adults who are willing to write notes of encouragement, to pray for our young people, and to touch base with them in church.
St. Paul Opportunity Center
The Coordinated Mission Committee has scheduled dates for the 2023 volunteer events to serve the lunch at the St. Paul Opportunity Center / Higher Ground from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on select Satrudays every other month. Stay tuned for our 2024 schedule!

You will be instructed to Create New Account. If you already have an account, just Sign In.
Next, you must Sign Up for the volunteer slot. We realize that some of you come in and may leave at varying times. For example, some come in at 2pm to help prepare while some come in at 4pm to help serve while others may be there for the whole shift. This is not a problem - just sign-up for the whole shift. When you arrive on-site, you will sign in and then sign out before you leave.
St Paul Opportunity Center/is part of Catholic Charities and is located at 422 Dorothy Day Place, St. Paul. We are looking for 8-10 volunteers for each meal service date. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and should wear appropriate closed toed footwear. Questions may be directed to Anna Sanchez in the Central office.

Sunday Worship Leaders
Here at Central we like to involve people in worship leadership and currently have opportunities available for for people to be liturgists, leading prayers, reading scripture passages, and speaking from the pulpit. Training and materials will be provided.
Sanctuary / Pew Organizer
Sign up as individuals, a pair, or a team. This is a good fit for anyone, especially families, introverts, retirees, or small groups, and timing is flexible to the volunteer's schedule. You set your schedule to complete!
Check that each pew rack has Bibles and Hymnals organized.
Offering envelopes, visitor, information and prayer request cards are restocked.
Each pew slot should have a functioning pen.
Hidden trash is removed.
Wednesday Lunch Service
Volunteers work with Chef Barb Westman to help with meal prep, service, and clean up for our Wednesday community meal event. We also need help welcoming guests, collecting and counting money each week (from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
